Composer/Author:
PREINFALK, G.
Arranged/Written for: Saxophone Quartet
Instrumentation: SATB
The title is not far-fetched: Gerald Preinfalk dedicated this piece to his twins after their birth in 1999.
During this phase he played extensively on the accordion with Klaus Paier, the greatest musical influence came from Michel Portal and Richard Galliano and the tango-like was also incorporated into Preinfalk's compositions at the time.
The Twintango was originally divided into two parts, but it was precisely the contrast between the two pieces that forced the composer to combine the piece into a whole.
Preinfalk's affinity for "a lot" saxophone made it almost necessary to write an arrangement for at least a saxophone quartet after a few years - here it is!
