Score and Parts
The Six epigraphes antiques were created in 1914 by Claude Debussy in the baroque format of the suite and originally composed for piano duet. Only a year later he transcribed the piece for piano solo and now, thanks to the outstanding work of GERALD PREINFALK
, the work is available for the first time arranged for saxophone quartet. Interesting detail: More than 100 bars of the composition come from musical accompaniments to the erotic lesbian poems "Les Chansons de Bilitis" by writer Pierre Louy, a friend of Debussy's.
