Composer/Author:
WEIDMANN, U.
Arranged/Written for: Saxophone and Piano
Instrumentation: Alto- or Tenorsaxophone
Including Playalong-CD
ULF WEIDMANN is one of the most renowned music producers in Germany. The Berklee graduate composed during his time at the college three exciting pieces, which are united in this volume. This is clearly music literature that requires a solid basic knowledge of both musicians. The effort is worthwhile, because Weidmann writes not for the ivory tower, but for his listeners and so in particular the title song Sambossa powerful in the legs, while Different Perspectives rather gently the Bossa Feel in the foreground and Harmony as an authentic ballad touches the heart.
Important for the pianist: Here you do not play for lead-sheets, but all the pieces are completely notated, so that even classical pianists without jazz or latin experience can easily play along. And so that the saxophonist does not get bored while practicing, the piano is also included in the enclosed playalong CD for the home - played by the composer himself!
