Paulo Pereira wrote "Samba Para Dagmar" as a dedication on the occasion of the birthday of the eponymous composer, who is a saxophonist herself.The medium-heavy arrangement brings a touch of Brazil to the concert stage and contains all the ingredients that make up a Latin jazz piece: Lyrical lines alternate with rhythmically contracted passages and chili-sharp notated solos by soprano and alto saxophone.
The accompanying playalong CD contains both a full version of the piece (with and without percussion) and a minus-one track for each voice.
