The idea for "Rooftop Groove" came up during a study visit by Paulo Pereira at the "Berklee College of Music" in Boston.
Due to the lack of rehearsal rooms, it was common practice there to make music and celebrate on the flat roofs of the high-rise buildings.
This medium-difficulty composition brings a relaxed, grooving atmosphere to the concert stage and reflects the mood of the sessions at dizzying heights.
Each instrument has notated solo passages arranged like a relay race in which the baton is passed seamlessly.
The accompanying playalong CD contains both a full version of the piece (with and without drums) and a minus one track for each voice.
