In this exercise book, the diminished fifth is understood and used as an interval for the development of an open melodic and harmonic space.
The exercises in this book serve both to expand technical playing skills and to develop an inner conception of contemporary melodic line formation as well as enharmonic reading training.
The exercises promote intervallic thinking and secure intonation in the open fifths. The exercises contain suggestions for extending technical playing skills into a tonal range that exceeds the conventional range of the saxophone register.
