This booklet is intended to provide saxophone quartets with material for working on the important subject of quartet intonation.
The first chapter contains lists of octaves, fifths and major and minor chords in various positions. They are intended as starting material for numerous exercises, which are presented at the beginning of the chapter.
The second chapter shows how to practise intonation in a piece.
Chapter three offers a series of auxiliary fingerings that make it possible to finger notes higher or lower to make intonation easier.
Chapter 4 is a collection of (harmonically) simple folk songs. The special feature here is that each of the songs appears in three different keys, which poses particular challenges for the saxophone's very different intonation behavior in each key.
