The composition was inspired by the back home in Indiana-chord progression, however, in this piece, the major and minor centers were reversed, so that you land really far away. After the introductory rubato it will swing and the first alto will have the opportunity to play a solo (there is also a notated example). The piece is not easy, you should know your instrument well, not necessarily need a leader and be reasonably familiar with jazz phrasing. The key is C minor but the composition also makes trips to other keys.
