The piece was written for the same event as Sarasax - Köhler received the Rüsselsheimer scholarship in 1998 and the concert marked the end of this phase. The composition has three movements, the corner movements are lyrical and cantabile, the middle one is quick-tempered. A deux is dedicated to Theodor Köhler's wife.
