Score and Parts
Jean-Baptiste Lully is certainly the most important French composer of the Baroque era, the inventor of French opera style and the most influential musician at the time of Louis XIV. He left a considerable number of operas, but his chamber music side is almost unknown, although the master probably did not bother with the music for the salon and preferred to leave it to his colleagues.
These 13 miniatures seem as if Louis XIV had booked light music for a cozy evening. Easy to play, nice and snappy in the sentence and with some wonderfully quiet pieces full of baroque lifestyle, this collection is ideal for the entry into the genre!
